about Bülant Orgabar

The Parisian trio Bülanz Orgabar is an extension of the noise duo u.n.d.o. Its music shifts between rackety stampedes, broken up rock, dubious silences and moments of earthy depression.

The general mood is rather lyrical/tragical, but there is also space for humour. You could even consider these songs of horror and rebellion to be overblown nonsense, childish tales of bogeymen and scarecrows. It's up to you.

Overabundance of voices, screaming, whispering, singing, of ??? [pas sûre de ce que voulait dire en français], of hidden confidences, treated like things amongst others, floating in the course of life. Imitation of Nature.

Bülanz Orgabar is a machine which captures noises and chews them up, to then spit them back into the world like steam jets. This can be an exorcism for the sickest or most conscientious of us.

The music of Bülanz Orgabar is made of more or less unanticipated moves. Rather than building musical developments, these gestures sculpt small brisk shapes out of the mass of chaos that is summoned. Without betraying it. Rather, maybe, so as to pay tribute to it.

Jean-Charles Delarue : drums / Juno organ / various voices
Jean-Philippe Saulou : mixing deck / guitars / loop station / dictaphone
Romuald Fogolin : guitar / loop station / various voices / dictaphone

about Brian Mitchell

Originally from Kansas, Brian Mitchell played guitar in various bands in the area, and, after some time decided it was time to go to New York City to see and learn from the masters living and playing there. Soon after arriving, he would meet Ornette Coleman and become one of his only students. Over the course of the next 3 years, Ornette would be a teacher and mentor to Brian, inviting him to band rehearsals and spending many nights, the two of them, playing and talking about music. During this time he was also playing regularly with Lawrence D. "Butch" Morris, a well known NYC conductor. Since living in Berlin, Brian has focused his attention to solo guitar. This focus has lead to two main points of improvisation. One, De-tuning ...what can be done with a guitar when you liberate it from conventional tuning, yet invent melodies and harmonies using conventional chord forms. Two, Feedback sculpture...the amplifier as an instrument, how and where one places a guitar in relation to the amp creates a world of sound, sometimes very harsh, others gentle and calming, and all strangely beautiful.

about KLUB MOOZAK

KLUB MOOZAK is not only a place for extreme sounds but just as well a physical basis for those who expect more of an evening at a nightclub than just dj's and beautiful people. we want to abandon stylistic self-restrictions and break down walls that normally obstruct the sonorical variety - through liturgical production and consumption of different forms of waves and frequencies.
